More and more players take the battleground leveling path from the lowest level possible to the level cap. It is indeed a lot of fun to level up in World of Warcraft battlegrounds, but it’s far from beeing as effective as questing. If you choose to level up a character exclusively by playing battlegrounds, you won’t reach level 85 to soon. Anyway, there are a few ways to improve the XP rate if you want to PvP until you cap a WoW character. So, here’s a Warcraft leveling guide providing a few tips on how to level fast in battlegrounds.

The first thing I’m going to put into view in this short Warcraft leveling guide is that you should only join random battlegrounds. I know that some of the BGs like Strand of the Ancients or Isle of Conquest probably aren’t the ones you like, but if you join a random BG, no matter which one is it, you will get an XP bonus and a Honor Points bonus at the end. If your faction wins, the XP bonus will be even better.

Starting on Thursday night, ending on Monday night, every week there’s a Battleground Holiday. That means you will get double Honor Points and XP in that BG, so it’s best to join only that particular battleground. If it’s an Alterac Valley Holiday, you shouldn’t miss this opportunity to grind some XP and Honor in PvP, because for each and every AV won, you will get a really “phat” amount of XP.

In some of the BGs there are daily quests. If you pick them up and complete them, needless to say, you’ll get an XP bonus.

One more thing to add in this Warcraft leveling guide is that rested XP is also useful in battlegrounds. Not as useful as if you’re questing or grinding, but if you’re a vicious PvP player that has 20-30 kills in every BG, your rested XP will pay off. So, when you log off, make sure your character is in an inn.

Finally, here’s a last tip, to close this Warcraft leveling guide. To get more XP from battlegrounds, you should buy and equip some Heirloom items. The shoulders, chest, helmet and cloak all have XP bonuses and if you have the possibility to get such items, don’t hesitate. It’s a wise investment of your Justice Points or Honor Points.

Now, even if you like PvP, I have to mention here that the quickest way to get to level 85 was, is and will always be -  questing. If you want to reach level 85 in less than 4 days, you can only achieve that by questing and working with an elite WoW leveling guide.

If you have been using a WoW leveling guide to level up faster in World of Warcraft, you’re probably already aware of its usefulness. Of course, in case it wasn’t just a crappy, general guide. Anyway, what I want to say is that so far I’ve seen two major categories of World of Warcraft leveling guides. In-game guides, and PDF or Membership Guides.

So, which ones are the best?

I’m going to try to make that clear. So, here are the pros and cons for an in-game leveling guide and for a PDF or membership guide.

WoW Leveling In-Game Guide – Pros and Cons

Pros

  • You won’t have to use ALT+TAB, being able to follow the leveling path which is displayed in game;
  • They are easy to install;
  • They are all easy to use, with player friendly interface;
  • They use the in-game WoW maps;
  • They have super optimized quest paths, allowing you to get a maximum XP rate at all time;
  • They are step-by-step structured, and have automatic quest trackers;

Cons

  • An in-game WoW leveling guide may interfere with the other addons that you have. Anyway, an elite leveling guide shouldn’t have this problem. For example, Zygor leveling guide never showed any glitches in conjunction with other addons;
  • An in-game WoW leveling guide may not provide you with satisfying info about certain quests since each step tends to be short. Anyway, that’s not the case for the 3 guides I presented here, on the main page of this site;

WoW Leveling PDF Guide – Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Since it’s PDF, you can always print it and have it on your desk;
  • A PDF WoW leveling guide doesn’t require installation. You just have to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed;
  • Either if it’s step-by-step structured or not, an elite PDF leveling guide should provide you with much more details when it comes to explaining a quest. Long before Zygor, Joana’s leveling guide was one of the best leveling tools for Horde players and it was a PDF guide;
  • PDF guides usually offer direct links to sites like WoWWiki or WoWhead for extra details for any quest;

Cons

  • To work with a PDF guide or any guide that it’s not in-game, you’ll have to use ALT+TAB all the time, which sucks;
  • Most of the PDF leveling guides for WoW are just general, strategy guides, and will not provide you with a super leveling path;
  • A PDF guide is harder to update, so you won’t get updates frequently. This way you may end up with an outdated leveling path;

Conclusion

An in-game guide is much more useful than a PDF one, because you have everything you need for fast leveling directly into your game interface. So, if you want to reach 85 A.S.A.P, choose an elite WoW leveling guide.

There are many ways to increase your XP rate especially after you pass in the new World of Warcraft Cataclysm leveling zones, after reaching level 80. So, here are some Cataclysm leveling tips to increase your XP rating and maintain a high XP flow:

1. Beginning with patch 4.0.1 (not exactly sure), gathering professions have become a great source of XP. When picking up a flower or collecting a mineral node, you will get XP. Depending on your level, and the level of the resource you’re gathering, you can get an amount of XP equal with the one you receive for killing 3-4 mobs. In other words, by gathering 2-3 mineral nodes or herbs, you’ll get an amount of XP equivalent with a quest. This, of course, will increase your XP rate.

2. Don’t waste the money that you get from quests. Save every silver and gold piece, beginning with level 40 at least, to make sure you’re going to have the required amounts of gold to upgrade your riding skills, when you become eligible. The faster you run or fly, the more XP you will get.

3. Dungeon leveling is not a bad way to get XP nowadays. But if you’re following the optimized quest path of a WoW leveling guide, you’ll maintain a much higher XP rate. Therefore, don’t join dungeons unless you have at least 2-3 quests to complete in that particular dungeon.

4. And the last of the Cataclysm leveling tips that I’m going to put into view here stands for Heirlooms. Of course, not all Heirlooms will grant you XP after you reach level 80. In fact, there are only 2 Heirloom items that still work past level 80. The cloak and helmet. These are only available for players that are in a high level guild and they also have at least Revered reputation with that guild. If you meet these requirements, buy those Heirlooms immediately. 15% XP bonus from level 80 to level 85 is pretty sweet.

I hope you find these Cataclysm leveling tips useful. I wish you the fastest leveling from 1 to 85.

Here’s the second part of this short WoW leveling guide for questing. So, here are a few important neutral quest hubs in Northrend and in the new zones of Cataclysm.

Northrend

D.E.T.H.A. Encampment (Borean Tundra) – it’s a small camp in the middle of Borean Tundra, near the crossroads at (57,44). By completing all the chain quests these NPCs give you’ll complete the achievement “D.E.T.H.A.’s Little P.I.T.A.”. I want to add here something that you should keep in mind. If you kill a beast while you’re in Borean Tundra, you’ll get covered in blood. Apparently D.E.T.H.A. really love animals and due to that fact, they will attack and kill anyone that does any harm to the wildlife. So, if you’re covered in blood, don’t go near the camp. The “blood” debuff lasts 3 minutes, but you can wash it off in the lake near by.

Nesingwary Base Camp (Sholazar Basin) – similar to other Nesingwary neutral quest hubs throughout the game, the quests here are based on slaying beasts. It’s a place not to miss if you’re a skinner.

The Shadow Vault (Icecrown) – It’s a death knights camp, the main neutral quest hubs for Knights of the Ebon Blade reputation. To get access to the quests here, you’ll have to complete 1 set of quests accepted from the Horde or Alliance airships that fly over Icecrown.

Cataclysm

Ramkahen (Uldum) – The main Ramkahen camp is located in the northern part of Vir’naal Lake in Uldum, you can’t miss it. You’ll also find the Ramkahen quartermaster here. Once you complete the first chain of quests with this faction, a portal from Stormwind or Orgrimmar will open to this camp.

Therazane’s Throne (Deepholm) – This isn’t an extremely important quest hub for XP, but this factions grants a very important shoulder enchantment. Most players grind reputation with them and some guilds even require you to have this enchant. To unlock the daily quests here, you will have to complete quite many quests in Deepholm. However, once you gain access to these quests, you can make nice cash by completing them daily, and also guild reputation.

I hope this WoW leveling guide helps. Knowing the most important neutral quest hubs in World of Warcraft, it will be easier to level up a character, in case you decide to change factions. Also, here are a few useful Cataclysm leveling tips.

There are many neutral quest hubs in World of Warcraft, which are usually quite rich in quests. Now, you’re probably asking yourself why are these NPC hubs so important for questing?

Well, if you’re going to roll a new character on the opposite faction, you’ll have a little bit of trouble with finding the most important quest hubs for your character, specific to the new faction you’re playing, Alliance or Horde. A neutral camp is always an excellent choice for any faction to choose as a questing destination, and you’re probably going to know the quests as well, because you probably have completed them before.

So, here’s the part 1 of a short WoW leveling guide. I’m going to point out here, a few of the best major cities throughout the game, with quests available for both factions in World of Warcraft:

Azeroth

Gadgetzan (Tanaris) – It’s a town inhabited by goblins, located in northern Tanaris. Plenty of quests here in a level range of 40-50.

Marshal’s Stand (Un’Goro Crater) – formerly Marshal’s Refuge. This camp was relocated after Cataclysm, placed South-East from Fire Plume Ridge. It’s the main quest hub in Un’Goro.

Booty Bay (The Cape of Stranglethorn) – this goblin-themed city is basically still there, but since STV has suffered major geographic changes in Cataclysm, Booty Bay is now on a different zone, The Cape of Stranglethorn.

Everlook (Winterspring) – another goblin-themed city, Everlook is the main quest hub in Winterspring. No major changes after Cataclysm.

Cenarion Refuge (Zangarmarsh) – is an important quest hub for the whole zone. You’ll always get Cenarion Expedition reputation by completing quests here. Also there’s a repeatable quest for Cenarion Expedition rep. – “Coilfang Armaments”. By reaching exalted with this faction you will be able to buy a very near flying mount.

Area 52 (Netherstorm) – a major goblin town in southwestern part of Netherstorm. Loads of quests here, this place being the most important quest hub in the zone.
